Through the recommendation of the Director and Faculty, students in Primary Level and higher are awarded the opportunity by invitation to participate in the American Ballet Theatre Examination Presentation.

Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn
Director

Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn has been teaching ballet for more than thirty years in Canada and USA. In 1983, she founded and directed Academy of Dance in Waterloo, ON, Canada and opened a second location in Cambridge, ON, Canada. In 2006, she moved to USA and in 2011 she founded Classical School of Ballet LI.

Frank Augustyn
Artistic Director

Frank Augustyn was trained at the prestigious National Ballet School of Canada. In 1970 he was invited to join the National Ballet Company of Canada and in 1972 promoted to principal dancer.

Katherine Healy
Instructor

Katherine Healy received her formal academic ballet training at the School of American Ballet. She was the subject of the children’s book A Very Young Skater, and starred in the movie Six Weeks with Mary Tyler Moore and Dudley Moore. At 13 she was awarded the silver medal at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi, and the following year she was awarded the gold medal at the International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria. Christina Van Ophermert
Instructor

Christina Van Ophemert is a graduate of the Department of Dance, Adelphi University and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Christina trained at ABT Ballet Intensives, NYC, ABT Collegiate Program and the New York Summer School of the Arts. Christina began dance at age 3 years and began assisting her teacher at age 14. Christina has been teaching Ballet, Modern and Creative Movement for 4 years. Additionally, she is a certified Pilates teacher. Her performing career includes, excerpts from classical ballets including La Bayadere, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Coppelia, as well as modern and contemporary works.
